Five Storey Films (FSF)

In an industry historically shaped by male-dominated hierarchies and individualism, Five Storey Films represents a timely and necessary shift toward collaborative, values-driven creativity. Formed by five female filmmakers with over a century of combined experience, FSF emerges from the evolving landscape of independent film—where authenticity, representation, and purpose matter as much as production value. As audiences crave deeper, more diverse storytelling, and as creators seek healthier, more inclusive working environments, FSF reflects a cultural movement toward union, mutual respect, and the collective power of women-led narratives. Our name, a play on “story” and “storey,” symbolises the layered structure of what we’re building—together, and with intention.

Five Storey’s.

Five Storey Films is a newly-formed creative collective/film/documentary production company of five female filmmakers.  From applying for Government grants to onscreen applications, the wordmark references the five founders and their connected approach to filmmaking. Letterforms merge into one another, symbolising collaboration, while the shortened logo uses the “F”s in Five and Films to form the “S” in Storey creating depth, projection and a strong visual signature that tells its own story. Designed to balance institutional clarity with creative depth, the identity had to perform across a range of touchpoints — from on-screen to institutional documents, film posters to treatment decks. It needed to carry the weight of professionalism in government-facing spaces while maintaining the creative spirit of the filmmaking team. The stacked nature of the wordmark allows for dynamic use across layouts through cropping, and motion — creating ownable brand moments that can flex across formats without losing clarity, while highlighting Five, Storey, and Films.
